For once, she's right Ed..."
Dru looked up at once, her eyes clearly showed her own surprisement. He had actually said she was right, okay the ' for once' was still there... But, it had been about the nicest thing he'd said about her when they were in company. He'd been nice on other occasions, very nice indeed, but that was an entire different story she was trying to forget right now.. She didn't want to go there when she was with Ed.
"Can one of you pair just get the damned things so you don't keep flicking it back and forth?"
She shifted again on her chair, trying to keep as cool as possible; He was right, but what could she do? Should she get up and go get those pills? Or was it just a move of Abraxas to keep her there for a few minutes without Eddie? Dammit, this was all so confusing. She coughed slightly, trying to get rid of the frog that was beginning to grow inside her throat. "Do you want me to get them?", she finally said with a soft voice as she brushed her hand through his hair once again. She needed to let him know that she still cared about him, that she still loved him, even thought there were a few things screwed up right now.
Taking a pencil in one hand, she began to scribble something down, wiping it out after a few minutes. She tapped her sheet of paper a few times, doodling an eye. It looked plainly familiar, until she realized which eye it was. She swallowed and looked up, right into those same green grey eyes she had drawn. Her pencil scratched over the eye, making sure that neither of the guys could see it.

At the question, Mal froze and thought back over his words. He showed nothing of his internal battle of anger and stupidity, and instead shrugged loosely. "Well you're hardly going to not be a pair now you've gone and done what you have are you?" He snapped, referring to the engagement - which thankfully both had told him about so Ed couldn't argue, at least not with the basic fact that he knew about it. "Least I can bloody do, right?"
That was a lucky cover, and Abraxas dropped his eyes to the table, Druella's tapping drew his eyes though and he looked away as she was sketching something. He wasn't supposed to be interested, and now he had drawn attention to himself by trying to make one or both of them disappear. He simply couldn't cope with them both around right now - was that such a big deal? Surely Ed would get that he felt awkward around him... because of the situation before 'Rion had entered the room and spoken to them both again.
"Just trying to state the point that you should take the stupid things - they're important Ed..." He added more coolly, and looked up to meet Edward's gaze, giving nothing more than his stupid mouth already had done. He would just have to play it colder, play it more like he would to an enemy. After all, in this kind of game there were no rules that constricted any action, so long as you won in the end.

Looking back 'n forth between Druella and Abraxas, Edward was beginning to catch onto the fact that there was a bit more tension in the area than normal. It was different for these two not to be arguing, and although Edward knew Mal 'n Dru tried to comply while he was around--he'd always been able to see the anger 'n hatred towards the other even with small little glances they threw. Now it was something different. There wasn't any anger, or hate---and Ed just wasn't able to figure it out.
But with their ranting, and Dru's persisting, Edward finally just gave a bitter grin and laughed, "If it means so damn much to you two, than fine." He looked up, meeting Mal's eyes first, and then Dru's, "You can stay here alright?" Pushing his gaze towards his best friend , "I'll go get that fucked up shit upstairs, and you two..." Eyes fluttering between them both, "...just stay here and be all chummy." Pushing himself up from the table, sharply, a scowl crossed over his features. It wasn't helping much that he was on the bridge of a huge migraine, that was just making everything worse.
"Cause Merlin knows that's just so fuckin natural!" His voice raised the smallest bit, he got a glare from the old witch but he simply glared back. Not really caring that he was in a freakin library. He managed to kiss Dru on the cheek before he went off--more just a matter of heart and habit, more because he never truly left a room anymore without doing it.
It'd take him less then fifteen minutes to grab those pills and come back, but over all that wasn't really the point. Something was wrong. And Edward knew it. However, in the end, Edward's heart--what little he had--knew that he should stop persuing the matter. Because it would lead to a pain he wouldn't be able to handle...
He ignored the chest wrenching feeling, just pushing it aside as his conscience, and went from the library. Leaving his fiance, his brother--plus his books--behind.

"For once, she's right Ed..."
Druella looked up again, his words were echoing in her ears. He was saying something.. "nice' about her in the presence of others. Her hand stopped stroking Eddie's hair for just a millisecond, before she continued again, trying to hide her surprise.
Did you just call us a pair?"
Dru's coughed, trying to get the frog out of her throat. He had just called them a pair. Abraxas, the one she'd spent a few evenings with now, had called her and Eddie a pair. He had never done that before. And now, now that they had done these things behind Edwards back, he was saying that they were a pair. Which they were of course, but it was quite strange to hear it from his mouth.
"I think he did, Eddie, "Dru said quietly, trying to let it all sink in. Was this a good thing or a bad thing. A side of her wanted to thank him, for being so reasonable, for seeing them as a pair for the very first time, but the other part of her just wanted to run away in frustration. Because right now, Eddie and Dru weren't the great pair anymore.. And that was just because of her. Everything had been so great, his lust, his entire persona, and now she had ruined so much of that. There were so many secrets hanging between the two of them, she didn't know she would be able to tell him ever.. The secrets that she kept hidden were far worse than her and Abraxas fooling around, after all, it was just something they had to get out of her system. But the it seemed like her past was getting to her.. sooner then she had expected...
